A New Beginning for Tomorrow- 내일을 위한 시작

The biting, knife-like wind

has knocked down even the last remaining unripe persimmon.

Stripped of all its green leaves, the lonely tree

tosses and turns all night, weeping.

The rippling pond froze in an instant.

Winter plays a harsh game,

as if to snatch everything away.

But if you look closely,

it is precisely then that the trees

are forming new buds.

The carp

sway beneath the ice.

Winter is not an end,

but a beginning for tomorrow.

매서운 칼바람에 한 개 남은

땡감마저 떨어졌다.

초록옷 모두 털어내 외로운 나무는

밤새 몸을 뒤척거리며 운다.

찰랑이던 연못도 한순간 얼어붙었다.

겨울이 모든 것을 앗아갈 듯

앙칼지게 논다.

그러나 가만히 들여다 보면 바

로 그때 나무들은 새순을 만들

고 있다.

붕어들은 얼음밑에서

살랑거린다. 겨울은 마지막이

아니라 내일을 위한 시작이다.
